Description: Hadrian’s Villa and Its Legacy
Escaping centuries of abuse and neglect, a substantial body of art from the Villa has survived more or less intact. A recent catalogue of sculpture from the Villa lists 173 statues definitely found on the site and an additional 105 of less certain provenance. Both the quantity and the quality of the surviving sculpture are impressive.
