Description: Watercolors by Winslow Homer: The Color of Light
Homer cropped three centimeters off the lower edge of Life-Size Black Bass (figure a), effectively forcing the viewer into the path of the leaping fish. He then centered and framed the bass for maximum effect by removing a total of two centimeters from the right and left edges.
